Visit to Rachel's

Since Jon was so good about getting pictures on the blog from our trip to him,
I thought I'd better follow his good example to get
pictures from Rachel's part of the trip posted.

We went to an amusement park that had some kiddy rides.
Lots of fun. There was this person dressed like a squirrel walking around.

Jimmy was entranced, as you can see.

They had a story time.
The story book was held by the squirrel and read by a dairy princess.
We were at the back listening.

Then we noticed a very intent little boy up front
- of course, our Jimmy!

We're not sure how he escaped our attention
so easily until he was up front and center.

One of the rides was some little motorcycles.

Rachel made arrangements for us to go kayaking
on the river that is near her home.
Here is Jim as he approached a large blue heron
(standing on the log).

No explanation needed below:

Brock's battle wound

Here are a couple pictures of Brock's stitches. He got in a fight with the side of the pool and lost! I wish I had remembered that I had the camera in my purse when we were at the hospital so I could have gotten some additional pictures of the wound, hospital visit, etc. His poor skin is raw from the bandaids so we are putting them vertical down his chin to allow the other skin to heal! Poor Brock! :(

Our little girl

Here are a couple pictures of Alyssa taken this week! She is an absolute joy to have around. Aside from her sassy personality, she is so much fun and loves to play! The cheesy face says it all!

Far West and Adam-ondi-ahman

Here are the last pictures of our church history tour. It was really an amazing experience. The kids seemed to enjoy themselves as well!

Independence and Liberty Jail

We took the kids to the Missouri church history sites the beginning of July. Here are some of the highlights from Independence and Liberty Jail. The RLDS temple looks like the Emerald City to us! It was a very interesting structure designed to look like a Sea Nautilus, the symbol of World Peace.

Trevor's birthday

Okay, better late than never. Here are a few pictures from Trevor's family birthday celebration in June! Star Wars does still consume his every thought, action, and conversation!

Mom and Dad in San Diego!

Mom and Dad recently went and visited Rachel and I on the west coast. When they came to San Diego we went to Sea World and the San Diego Zoo, and Mom just e-mailed me some pictures from the trip. Since she hasn't posted them so I thought I would share a few!

We (well, just me really) decided that if Seth grew long hair and de-evolved a bit than this is what he would look like.

At Sea World there were all sorts of shows you could go and see. They featured all sorts of animals: dogs, cats, pigs, walruses, meerkats, sea lions, dolphins, and of course, killer whales.

In one pool you could pay a few bucks to be able to feed the dolphins, and as you can see they seem to love it and let you rub their foreheads. In one of the shows they asked a father and his young daughter what they felt like after they were given the opportunity to rub a dolphin. The father said "rubber", while the daughter's answer was much more fun: "a hot dog."

Like father like son? Mom snapped this one of us without either of us noticing and I thought it turned out well.
