coming home today

It got worse. Tempurature rose, breathing grew more and more difficult and he wasn't able to eat. I started setting my alarm to get up and check him every two hours, then every hour, then every half hour. Not that I actually slept in between, I was just afraid I would. Then, sunday morning, while sucking snot out of him, a chunk broke loose and blocked his airway. As his eyes started to bulge and he began to turn blue, I yelled for Seth - who ran up and started pounding on his back while I reached down his mouth with the bulb aspirator and pulled out ropes of mucus. so gross. He started breathing, but it happened againa few minutes later. At that point we yelled to Jimmy to grab some clothes and drove as fast as we could to the local ER. they stabalized him with oxygen and then called the ambulance to take us to a larger hospital, St. Vincents. He stayed there overnight and slowly got worse - not lots - but not getting better. So THEY called an ambulance and sent us to Doernbecher chilren's hospital. He's been there since today. I'm so glad for modern medicine and good staff. the people here have been wonderful and have delt with him so gently and compassionatley (with us too for that matter...)

- This is now, looking relaxed and ready to come home! Me too!
